Research Collaborations

Conducting research in coral reef restoration is a key part of the CCRRP's mission. We run studies monitoring and evaluating coral growth, reef ecosystem health, water pollution levels, and the annual coral spawning. We study methods to improve coral growth including electrolysis, new coraline chemical compounds, and growing coral polyps in our aquariums. We study how to combat disease and climate change through coating corals in antibiotics, improving the health of symbiotic species, and using solar shades to counter coral bleaching.

We have conducted these studies both on our own, with the invaluable help of our interns and volunteers; and in partnership with universities, research institutions, individual scientists, and other coral conservation organizations in Cozumel and Mesoamerica.

Please leave your contact info and a short summary of the research project you wish to collborate on.
